For those of us who’d rather crush on people than date them, social life can be a little difficult at times.
Not because of how we feel about our choice or situation, but because of how others do.
Far too often anyone who’s single for more than a couple of months gets “that look” from friends and family. You know “that look”… the one that mixes “Oh, you poor thing!” with “What the heck is wrong with you, anyway?”
And if you try to explain that, yes, you are quite happy being single, if you’re lucky, you’ll get shallow agreement. I’ve had people tell me flat out that I’m wrong when I’ve told them I’m okay being single for over a decade. How they know I’m wrong about how I feel, I don’t know… but, apparently, they know my business better than I do.
Except we all know that’s not the case at all.
If we’re single by choice, shouldn’t we be allowed to be happy being that way?
I’m not going to let this drift into a full-on diatribe. (Not this time, at least.)
Instead, I’m going to point you toward a nice little infographic I came across a while back. Something that, if that argument does ensue, you can draw on to give some practical justification for your single lifestyle choice.
Enjoy it. And revel in what you’ve got.
